Bold blocks of colour help to finish your card, catching the eye and
emphasizing your rossette.
Colour blocks and swashes help to fill out a
card and provide background to your teabag designs. Once you have practiced you
will find the effects simple to produce.
Making a Swish, Stripe or Swosh
To produce a a stripe or swish first pick the complementary card or paper. Papers
are just as suitable for this as card, and textured papers can be particularly
dramatic. Once you have a complimentary card or paper cut the stripe or swish.
At this
point, the piece you cut should be longer than it needs to be. Then glue this
piece across the card, allowing it to overlap. Once the glue has set, turn the
card face down and cut off the excess from each end of the stripe.
Colour Matching Hints
- Try using rich colors with pale creams to create a classic look.
- If you have a large selection of card go for the first combination you like.
This will save you a lot of time.
- If your rosette doesn't contrast much with the card try putting a contrasting
swish behind the rosette.
