Teddy Bear Card
Everybody likes teddy bears, and this simple set of
instructions shows you how to make your very own teddy bear card with
left over pieces of foil.
Materials: Start by downloading the
pattern, which is
a word file, and printing it out (you do not need to print it in
colour). You will also need some light and dark brown, and pink
handmade paper, some brightly coloured mulberry paper (we have used
yellow), a marker pen, card, and a strip of used stickers (borders are
particularly suitable).
| Begin by sticking the design to the back of your
light brown handmade paper, and cut round it. Do the same for
the pads of the paws, the ears, nose, and bow tie, with the
other colours and the mulberry.
Once cut out you can then stick the pads, ears, bow-tie, to
the front of your teddy bear shape with a little bit of
glue.. |

|
Once you have your basic shape you can add an outline
round the bow-tie, a mouth, and eyes (or use very small goggle eyes)
using a marker pen. Then take your sheet of used peel-offs. Find the
very small pieces that are left behind when you remove the borders and
letters. These are ideal to form the stitches around the edge of the
teddy. You may wish to use the blade of a craft knife to pick up these
pieces and apply them, they are often too small to apply by hand.
 |
Work around the edge of the teddy bear applying
the peel-off pieces close together. Work completely around the
head, and extend the stitching around the paws.
Then attach your completed teddy to a card and apply a
message.
This same technique can be used on a variety of designs,
including flowers, balloons, and kites. |
