| Materials: You
will need a pile of mosaic tiles, some TonerTex foil, and a
Magic Motif. You will also need a card, and some mount board,
low-tack tape (such as Scotch Magic), and double sided tape. A
burnisher. Glue. Tweezers. |
Step 1: Start
by making a work board. Cut a piece of mount board slightly
larger than the card you are planning. Put a strip of double
sided tape down each side. Now stick low-tack tape sticky-side
up to the double-sided tape
Step 2: Randomly pick up tiles of different shades and
place them on the low-tack tape. This holds them still to work
with. |
|

|

|
| Step 3: Use
any magic motif (in this case a dolphin). |
Step 4: Use a
burnisher to rub the back of the motif to transfer it to the
tiles and remove backing paper. |
|

|

|
| Step 5: Place
foil over motif and again use a burnisher to rub over the motif
area. |
Step 6: Gently
peel back the foil. (If you missed an area then it can have more
foil applied later). |
 |
 |
| In this case
different colours of foil were applied to different sections of
the design at stage 6, so that the dolphin and water are
distinguished. |
Step 7: Take a
piece of backing card, and transfer the tiles one at a time.
Glue the tiles one at a time, leaving a small gap (a pair of
tweezers reduce the chance of knocking one of the pieces you
have already placed) and can help with spacing. |
 |
 |
| Step 8: Once
all the tiles are in place cut the
backing piece to size. |
Step 9: Attach
the piece to a folded card for your completed greetings
card. |
